Wai o Tapu

These landscapes were exhibited as part of a group show with contemporary photographers Gareth Moon, Jen Raoult, Joseph Jowitt and Joseph Michael.

Prints by Tammy Williams and Joseph Michael sit beside luminous light boxes by Gareth Moon, initiating a complex mood of reverence for the natural environment in an era acutely aware of the consequences of climate change. At times mournful, at times elevated and sublime, these artworks invoke a sense of mysticism, drawing the viewer deep into the scene, leading them to an uneasy surrender, a contemplative experience of ‘oneness’ with the natural world.
