Arcane
This body of work explores the ideas and tensions between public and private worlds through an observational lens. Worlds where viewers and performers choose to present themselves veiled with costume or caught in moments unaware.
The series of photographs were taken at roller skating events in Australia and New Zealand. In exploring concepts around identity I realised I had created my own internal stories about each character and their individual history. Though often disguised as something other than themselves I wanted to offer an intimate portrait into these peoples lives and in doing so reveal something intensely personal to the viewer.
